Pickens County’s population has nearly doubled since 1996 when the original and only library in the county was built. Hogan Construction completed the renovation and addition consisting of structural steel on a continuous and spread foundation. The exterior is brick/EIFS to match the existing aluminum storefront windows and a TPO roof. With an expanded and renovated library facility, the Pickens community will have more space for books and technology; a large modern children’s area, a new teen room with comfortable seating, tables, and age-appropriate books, larger meetings spaces for community programs; and additional seating for study and quiet reading.
