Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Branch Library: Tucker, GA

Originally constructed in 1965, the Tucker – Reid H. Cofer Library more than doubled its size with the help of Hogan. Hogan provided construction management at-risk services for this new 25,000 square foot library, as part of the DeKalb County Library Bond Program. The facility, which has achieved LEED Gold Certification, incorporates storefront and sunshades, outdoor air delivery monitoring, low-flow water fixtures, efficient mechanical systems and abundant natural lighting. In fact, in 90% of the library, visitors can peruse the 82,000 volume collection with expansive outdoor views.

The Library also includes a 150-seat meeting room, group study areas, a youth story room, teen area, technology center and computers throughout, conference room and an art display area with a café. Located in a bustling DeKalb community in close proximity to public transportation, the library features a brick, stone and veneer façade exterior.

Hogan is adding over 110,000 SF of library space through seven projects for DeKalb.

Client Quote:

“The decision to entrust seven of the nine library bond projects to the Hogan Construction Group has proved to be on of the best decisions that the county could have made. The management team performed superbly…from estimating, collaborating with the design team to value engineer projects to meet scope, budget, quality and schedule, and subcontractor selection and management.”
