North Fulton Services Center: Sandy Springs, GA

Originally constructed in 1976, the North Fulton Service Center has historically been home to Fulton County government services such as the Tax Commissioner’s Office, Tax Assessor’s Office and Magistrate Court. In an effort to centralize community services, Fulton County needed to renovate and expand this facility to include a new regional healthcare facility for the treatment of individuals and families.

Hogan was contracted to complete demolition of the majority of the interior spaces, which included asbestos abatement efforts, to a community health center which combined the services previously offered at Fulton County’s Sandy Springs Health Center and Grady’s North Fulton Health Center. The degraded condition of many public areas and mechanical systems made it necessary to incorporate upgrades of all public restroom areas to comply with ADA accessibility requirements. Fulton County added to the scope, incorporating full sprinkler systems on both floors and upgrading the existing HVAC equipment. With an already challenging deadline, Hogan performed all renovations simultaneously with no alterations to the scheduled completion date.

The North Fulton Service Center offers housing and employment services, primary care, public health, behavioral health and dental clinic services and a delightful child care area for clients visiting the Center. The Center also features a library reading room, public computer lab and new community garden. In addition to allowing a consolidated location for county services, renovations provided expanded office space, improved the facility’s energy performance and increased accessibility for disabled clients.

When the design of the lobby stalled, Hogan went above and beyond by bringing in consultants to facilitate the lobby design. Hogan completed this visionary renovation project on time and on budget.
