Newton County Administration Building and Parking Deck: Covington, GA

The 61,244 square foot Newton County Administration Complex houses several of the county administration departments including tax and tag, tax assessor’s office, health and environment, planning and zoning, information technologies and the board of elections. Hogan provided construction management at risk services in the development of this municipal project which centralizes key county functions. The project consists of cast in place concrete foundations and slabs on grade, structural steel and composite slab frame, the building envelope consists of masonry, cast stone, storefront, curtain wall, precast and membrane roofing. The project required demolition of an existing building and the close coordination and scheduling of deliveries due to the limited site access.

Additionally, this project included a 200 car parking deck. Due to tight site constraints, Newton County partnered with the local church across the street and was able to construct a pre-cast parking structure that could be shared by both the public and the church. The street facade that faces the new Administration Building shares the same simulated stone and brick exterior architectural features.
