PROJECT MANAGER

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide overall administrative and technical direction for one large, complex project or multiple, small and/or medium size projects.  Responsibilities include customer interface, project scoping, estimating, scheduling, procurement, construction oversight, safety oversight, cost and progress monitoring, management and reporting.  Project types include small to medium and large construction projects in Healthcare, Industrial and Manufacturing, Primary and Higher Education, Government and Cultural markets.  Delivery methods will include General Contracting, Design-Build and Construction Manager at Risk.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, security, etc.
  • Request support from company specialists (Safety, Procurement, Scheduling, etc) as needed on assigned project(s).
  • Authorize/approve all project purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to. Interpret policies as required.
  • Maintain official project logs and documentation files.
  • Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related degree preferred.
  • 5-15 years supervisory or equivalent experience in similar type facility construction.   Residential construction is not equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); Company policies, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations essential.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.
