Dunwoody Library: Dunwoody, Georgia

Due to the fundraising efforts and generosity of the Friends of the Dunwoody Library, this DeKalb County branch library received a 3,600 square foot interior renovation. The project, completed over 15 days, updated both the general circulation and children’s area. In the main library, the circulation desk was replaced from a linear configuration to a centralized oval to allow for improved traffic flow and the addition of two self serve check out stations. A Sensormatic security system was installed at the library entrance, carpet was updated and decorative slat wall was installed for book display.

In the children’s area, Hogan reconfigured the space from two private study rooms to created a larger story room, larger circulation area and create an office. The solid wall delineating the children’s area was replaced with storefront; the resulting wall transparency improved security and contributed to the feeling of expansiveness. The children’s library features new paint, new carpet and a display area for featured books.

Client Quote:

“The Hogan team perservered to finish the project on time, up to and including allowing for library staff and volunteers to begin to move back to the space as subcontractors finished thier work, resulting in the Library facility opening for business as scheduled. Without a doubt, the Friends of the Library and the public were pleased with the renovation of their community branch and the library staff is enjoying the newly refurbished space. Many thanks are due to the Hogan Construction Group for their fine work and collaborative spirit.”
