Cobb County Department of Transportation: Marietta, Georgia

Hogan Construction Group provided construction management services for the Cobb County Transportation Management Center. The three-story, 24,000 square foot office building is used for traffic management, dissemination of traffic condition information, incident management, centralized monitoring and control of traffic signals, and changeable message boards. The facility, which was built on the Cobb County Department of Transportation Squad Building site, is seeking LEED Silver Certification.

The project included the demolition of the existing structure on site. The new transportation management center connects to the remaining DOT building on site and has a diesel-fueled generator for emergency power supply. The state-of-the-art transportation management center also includes a security system and a large video display wall that handles incoming video feeds from remote traffic cameras around the County. The video display is the heart of the facility.

This project was partially funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), GDOT and local funds. Hogan successfully complied with the Davis Bacon Rate Act.
