Clark Atlanta University, Oglethorpe School: Atlanta, Georgia

Originally constructed in 1905, the Oglethorpe School houses Clark Atlanta University’s Art and Science department. This three-story building shines as a focal point of the Clark Atlanta campus.

Hogan renovated the exterior of the historic brick building to restore the façade to its original glory. Comprehensive renovation work involved the rehabilitation of the wood windows and mechanical system, and masonry repointing and cleaning. Hogan’s attention to detail ensured that the work was performed safely and without compromising the Oglethorpe School’s historical integrity. The project was completed while the facility and the campus remained operational.

The Oglethorpe restoration was so successful that Hogan was awarded a contract to perform similar services on Harkness Hall, the most historically significant building on campus.
