Elizabeth Gabbett - Safety Director

Always ready for a challenge, Elizabeth Gabbett started her career in construction 12 years ago with the Chicago and Northeast Illinois District Council of Carpenters, Local 80.  She completed the apprenticeship program and turned journeyman carpenter before moving to Atlanta to begin a career in construction management.  She has worked with some of the largest construction companies in the Atlanta area and was Safety Coordinator for Hartsfield Jackson Construction Management where she oversaw safety for the construction of the 5th Runway Project and implosion of the old FAA Air traffic control tower, as well as numerous road and airfield projects.

Gabbett holds ASP and CHST professional accreditation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.  She earned a Georgia Tech Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety for both Construction and General Industry.  She is a graduate of the University of Georgia.

An active member of the Atlanta Branch of the Associated General Contractors Safety Committee, Gabbett is also co-chair of the Atlanta Branch, Construction Division of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

Gabbett is an avid adventure traveler and enjoys whitewater rafting and kayaking.  A born organizer, she frequently coordinates company extracurricular activities.  A music lover, she can frequently be spotted at venues on the local bluegrass circuit.  She has been in leadership roles with the National Association of Women in Construction, her local church and various volunteer organizations in the Atlanta area.
